| BG1055 Spacecraft Payload Systems Engineer Our Bath based client is looking to appoint a Spacecraft Payload Systems Engineer The Job The primary role is ensuring that the in-orbit spacecraft payload activities are conducted safely to maximise the useful life of the spacecraft. The secondary role is to represent client as part of the customer monitoring team throughout the assembly integration and test phase of any new spacecraft. The successful applicant will be responsible for all Payload advice and consultancy for spacecraft in orbit and in the assembly, integration and test phase. Essential Qualifications and Experience • BSc Communications Engineering, Physics, or equivalent • Spacecraft Payload experience (operations or engineering), minimum of 2+ Years • Good written and verbal communications skills and ability to read technical papers in English • Ability to get SC clearance if not already held as work cannot commence without this. • Space engineering covering UHF, SHF and Ka wavebands. • Competent user and developer of Visual Basic Applications. Primary Duties • Monitor day-to-day spacecraft payload subsystems • Provide & review spacecraft payload trend analysis data • Provide technical support to on-station operations. • Liaise with spacecraft design and operations teams to optimise operations. • Monitor new spacecraft during Payload definition, Integration, Subsystem and System Level phases. • Provide technical representation at payload investigations. • Understand and monitor the applicable ground equipment. • Support the Payload In Orbit Test phase for future spacecraft launches. • Support, schedule and analyse the results for spacecraft through life testing • Provide payload and RF Systems expertise support business areas within the company and parent companies on various bids and projects. • Support the development of the next generation payloads The Offer A salary commensurate with skills and experience is on offer. |
